According to the Criminal Justice Standards Division of the NC Department of Justice, “in order to assue the public a consistent level of competence of police officers and promote the professional status of law enforcement officials, the Criminal Justice Standards Division administers the Commission’s mandatory certification program for all sworn police officers.”

“The Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Curriculum is designed to prepare enry level individuals with the cognitive and physical skills needed to become certified law enforcement officers in North Carolina. The course is comprised of 35 separate blocks of instruction to include tops such as Firearms, Driver Training, Motor Vehicle Law and Arrest, Search and Seizures. The BLET course is filled with practical exercises an extensive Ethics section that is woven throughout the training experience.”

“The BLET course has been thoroughly researched, legally reviewed and contains the most current law enforcement information available. The Commission mandated 618-hour course takes approximately 16 weeks to complete and concludes with a comprehensive written exam skills testing.”

An unarmed security guard has completed the Basic Unarmed Security Officer Training Course consisting of a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of classroom training, pursuant to the provisions of the N.C.G.S. 74C. An armed security guard completes the Basic Armed Security Officer Training Course consisting of a minimum of twenty (20) hours of classroom training pursuant to the provisions of the NCGS 74C.

King Special Police Academy and its respective officers may, by law, provide the same and all services within their jurisdiction as do municipal law enforcement officers in North Carolina.

King Special Police Academy officers has met or exceeds the standards required for certification as law enforcement officers from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

King Special Police Academy officers are officially sworn in and have received their commissions from the Attorney General, which give them the power to make arrests and to charge for infractions, subject to strict territorial jurisdiction limitations.

King Special Police Academy is a vital part of the criminal justice system, as we help patrol and enforce the criminal laws of our state in private schools, residential communities, office buildings, hospitals, etc.

Community Officers

 

King Special Police Academy officers will protect and serve the community primarily as resource officers to homeowners/ business associates/ visitors, helping to patrol and enforcing North Carolina’s laws.  As sworn officers, King Special Police has the power to make arrests and to charge for infractions, subject to strict territorial jurisdiction limitations.

King Special Police Academy officers will be available for patrol on weekdays, weekends, on a 24 hour per day basis according to the customer needs. King Special Police officers will always and only enforce North Carolina’s laws in every situation.

King Special Police Academy officers is trained to act proactively for prevention of crimes.  Among our services, King Special Police offers community seminars on Break-in Prevention, Burglary and Robbery Prevention, Self-defense and Rape Prevention, Drinking and Driving for Teenagers, Use of Illegal Drugs, Domestic Abuse, Child Abuse and other related subjects as they are needed in a specific communities and businesses.
